Dakota City, IA – The Humboldt County Court House is set to try out a different cleaner while looking for cost effective safely reopen the court system following COVID-19 closure.
The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors approves the purchase of a disinfectant/sanitizer for the court house. On Monday, June 8 the supervisors heard from Hotsy Equipment Company Sale Representative Steve Reimers on a cleaning product called VitalOxide. The sales pitch was a scheduled agenda item arranged by Supervisor Bruce Reimers after discussion with the sales rep the previous week.
The reason for hearing from the sales representative is the court house was looking for a cost effective way to assure proper cleaning of the court rooms when the court system reopens for full trials while still dealing with COVID-19. While previous discussions have centered on hiring an addition staff member, the supervisors did not find this cost or time effective. Steve Reimers says that the versatility of VitalOxide provides a solution.
The cleaner acts as both a sanitizer and disinfectant. It can be applied as a mist to any surface and takes about five minutes to fully dry. Once dried the surface is disinfected. Sanitizing just requires a quick wipe of the cleaner. Reimers says the cleaner does not leave a residue or film and is odorless. He also confirms that it can be applied by using a simple spray bottle as well as a fogger or misting device.
Following the presentation the board of supervisors held a brief discussion. Supervisor Sandy Loney confirms she uses the cleaner personally and had no complaints. The board concluded that they were impressed with the product and willing to try it.
The motion was made by Loney and seconded by David Lee to approve the purchase of 15 gallons of VitalOxide. The board approved unanimously.
