Johnston, IA – The state food bank is getting support from a state agriculture company to help provide to those in need.

Iowa Corn is partnering with Food Bank of Iowa to raise funds towards feeding and supporting Iowans. Announced via a press release, Iowa Corn will be providing a matching grant up to $25,000 to equate up to $50,000 for the Iowa Corn Team at Food Bank Iowa. This would provide over 200,000 meals to Iowans across the state.

Iowa Corn Promotion Board President Roger Zylstra encourages those who are able to contribute to the food bank. He says that creating awareness of food origin is why Iowa Corn is proud to support the food bank. In addition to the establishing the Iowa Corn Team, the organization donated 5,000 shopping bags to the food bank to assist in the safe distribution of meals across the state.

President and CEO of Food Bank of Iowa Michelle Book says they are grateful for everything Iowa Corn does to support the state. They also appreciate the gift and for encouraging others to get involved. The food bank recognizes the importance of corn in the state for feeding livestock, fueling cars and being enjoyed by communities all across the state and nation.
