Ames, IA – A new state initiative is now available to help citizens emotionally recover from the current pandemic.
The State of Iowa is launching a new initiative to help individuals, families and communities recover from the psychological impacts of COVID-19. In a press release from the Iowa Department of Human Services they announce the launch of COVID Recovery Iowa. The program is available now and joins Iowans of all ages online to find support and learn new strategies when coping with the effects of the pandemic.
Iowa Concerns Coordinator Tammy Jacobs says there has been a heavy economic impact and the personal and emotional impact has taken a heavy toll as well. She says that feelings such as “anxiety, loneliness, anger and sense of loss are only a few of the very normal emotions Iowans may feel right now.” The impact this virus has is different for everyone and that’s why COVID Recovery Iowa was created.
Every Iowan is eligible for the free services offered through COVID Recovery Iowa. Services include programs to help manage stress and family finances. Educational seminars and solutions are also available for farmers and business owners.
