Humboldt Fire and Rescue handles small fire in a Humboldt home

Humboldt, IA – No damages or injuries reported after Humboldt Fire and Rescue is called to the scene of a small house fire near Bicknell Park.

The Humboldt Fire Department responds to a call Thursday afternoon for a small fire in a Humboldt home. Among those on the scene was Assistant Fire Chief Kim Jensen. He shares with KHBT why they were called to the scene.

He says that the call came as a result of a box being placed on top of a stove top. Jensen says the oven was on and cause the box to catch fire. The fire department was able to put out and remove the box before anything else within the home was damaged. Jensen reports that there was no as a result and that Humboldt Fire would be present until the smoke is cleared from the home.

The call came to the Humboldt Dispatch Center at 12:37 pm. Humboldt Fire and Rescue would respond soon after to the home which was located along 1st Avenue North near Bicknell Park.
