Humboldt City Council approves final payments on two improvement projects

Humboldt, IA – The Humboldt City Council is looking to future city projects and improvements by closing the books on recently completed projects.

During the most recent meeting of the council they were given two separate city improvement projects to approve the completion and final payment for. Present to discuss the final details of the projects and help answer questions was ISG Engineering Consultant Representative Nick Fredrickson.

The first project the council approved the final payment for was 2019 portion of the large scale roadway improvement project across the city. The contractor was Blacktop Service Company in Humboldt. The first resolution to finalize the project was to decrease the amount of contract price by $8,940.03. The second resolution approved the final payment of $17,525.06, which is the five percent hold on the contract until the submission of the engineer’s statement of completion.

The second project council approve the final payment for was 2019 water valve and hydrant replacement project. The contractor was Reding’s Gravel and Excavating Company in Algona. The first resolution was to set the net contract price decrease of $9,073. The second resolution approved the final payment of $13,212.22, which was the five percent hold to be distributed upon submission of the engineer’s statement of completion.

All resolutions presented to the Humboldt City Council were approved unanimously as recommended by city administration and ISG’s Fredrickson.
