Humboldt County supervisors recognize next month as National Recovery Month

Dakota City, IA – The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors sign a proclamation to recognize September as National Recovery Month.

On Monday, Aug. 24 the county’s supervisors heard from Ben Rasmussen from Community and Family Resources. The organization works with families and communities to help those recovering from substance abuse and working to prevent addition.

Rasmussen presented a formal proclamation to the board to have them join the organization in recognizing National Recovery Month. The month is set aside so that those who have overcome this substance abuse patterns can be recognized for their work and accomplishments. Rasmussen says that usually the Iowa governor will also sign a proclamation and requested the county have one signed as well.

The board of supervisors made the motion unanimously to sign the proclamation and recognition of Sept. as National recovery month.
