Dakota City, IA – The Humboldt County Secondary Roads Department is looking to replace stop signs throughout the county.
On Monday, Aug. 10, during the meeting of the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors they approved a resolution and agreement with the department of transportation. This agreement is a sign replacement program that involves reimbursement from the DOT following installation of replacements for qualifying signs. County Engineer Ben Loots presented the resolution to the board.
He says that this year secondary roads wants to focus on stop signs. Replacing all the stop signs might be a two year project however due to the quantity of them throughout the county. In total there are about 500 stop signs within the county’s jurisdiction.
The motion to accept the resolution and agreement with the DOT was accepted unanimously by the board of supervisors.
