Dakota City, IA – The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors are pushing back the final approval of the bonding agreement one week.
During the most recent meeting of the board on Monday, Sept. 21, they heard an update from D.A. Davidson’s Michael Maloney. His update provides them with the details of a minor postponement of the process to approve the final agreement.
He says that the decision to delay the process by one week is to avoid rushing the process. After working through some of the final pieces of the agreement with the bonding attorney late last week with Auditor Peggy Rice they agree it was better to wait a week. This was not because of any issues they ran into but them just not wanting to rush anything.
The delay of approving the bonding agreement does not slow down the timeline on when the county will begin borrowing. They are trying to meet a November deadline on when their first payment on the Motorola lease is due.
The bonding agreement will be readdressed during the next supervisors meeting on Monday, Sept. 28.
