Humboldt cross country performs well in Algona

Algona, IA – Humboldt High School Cross Country continues to see success after the Algona Invitational.

On Monday, Sept. 28, Humboldt Wildcats cross country took part in an Invitational at the River Road Golf Course in Algona. For the boys is a first place team finish and the girls placed seventh.

Once again the Humboldt Boys had a duo that led the meet individually. Quinton Orr was the class of the field as he took the individual win with a time of 15:43, one second under his personal best and school record time. Orr’s teammate Eric Wittrock finished second in the meet with a time of 16:57. Humboldt had an overall team score of 60, which was good enough for the first place team finish.

The Humboldt girls placed seventh as a team at the meet with a score of 210. The team was led by Allison Hoag who placed 27 with a time of 22:26.

Humboldt cross country will continue their season on Thursday, Oct. 1. The meet is scheduled to be hosted by Estherville Lincoln Central and will be at the Estherville Golf Course.
