Humboldt, IA – Humboldt historic downtown movie theater is ready to reopen from its second COVID-19 closure.
The Humota Movie Theater has made the announcement they plan to reopen for movie showings this weekend. After closing back on July due to the lack of new content coming from the film industry the theater has once again decide to reopen its doors. The announcement was made Monday, Sept. 21.

The general manager says that the staff is well prepared to protect the movie goers due to upped sanitation standards. VanOrd says the theaters management has provided masks and gloves to all of its workers. The Humota has also purchased sanitizer and disinfectant to wipe down all surfaces and between showings all seats will be sanitized. She says due to the uncertainty of the whole situation this is no way to predict how the reopening will turn out. She does say the theater team knows they have a strong community backing that has stood behind them since they time the decided to transition through the most recent shutdown.
