Possible injuries after vehicle goes airborne

Humboldt County, IA – Possible serious injuries suspected following a vehicle going airborne along Highway 3.

Deputy Michael Vinsand of the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office files the report on the single car incident. His report states that on Saturday, Sept. 12, Robert Pooler, 65, of Boone was east on Hwy 3 when he got distracted reaching for a cookie on his dashboard. The action resulted in his blue Chevrolet Cavalier to hit the gravel should of the road and lose control. He entered the south ditch and eventually hit a driveway causing the Cavalier to go airborne, swipe a utility pole and travel slightly further before stopping in the ditch.

The incident resulted in severe damage to Pooler’s Cavalier that was towed away from the scene. Deputy Vinsand reports possible serious injuries suspected and Pooler was transported to Humboldt County Memorial Hospital for further treatment.
