Dakota City, IA – The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors are looking to clean out drainage district 29 open ditch.

During a recent meeting of the board they were present with a petition to have an DD 29 open ditch near Bloody Run Creek cleaned. The petition was requested by Alan G. Pedersen who was not present for this meeting.

One property owner who lives along this district and present for the meeting is Gary Jensen. Jensen was able to provide details and maps of the district to discuss the matter deep with the supervisors. He says that last time the ditch was cleaned was 1979 with the bridge being removed and steel culvert being put in its place. Additional work was done along the open ditch during the 90s as well.

After some discussion the supervisors decided they needed to have the ditch surveyed to make sure it was all at the proper elevation. The petition was accepted by the supervisors but an engineer was not named at this time.
