Humboldt County, IA – No injuries reported after tailgating and a brake check leads to a two car incident on Highway 3.

Deputy Andrew Shillington of the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office reports on the two car incident. His report states that on Wednesday, Sept. 16, Rickie Withers, 46, of Clarion was west on Highway 3 followed by Jacob Rosa, 20, of Eagle Grove. As the two drivers continued west the report says that Withers told Deputy Shillington that he felt like Rosa was “tailgating” him and so he performed a “brake check” in an attempt to stop him following so closely. The result of the two actions was Rosa’s purple Pontiac Grand Prix rear-ending Withers’s blue Ram 1500.

The incident resulted in minor damages to both vehicles that were driven away from the scene. No injuries were reported by Deputy Shillington at the time of the incident.
