Eagle Grove man charged in double homicide case

Fort Dodge, IA – An Eagle Grove man is among those being charged in a double homicide case in Fort Dodge.

The Fort Dodge Police Department announces via a release they have been working diligently to bring a resolution to a double homicide case that occurred in June. Throughout the course of the investigation they have determined that five individuals were involved in the incident that left two deceased and two others injured.

Among those five individuals includes Michael J. Shivers, 55, of Eagle Grove. Shivers and his four accomplices have been charged with two counts of Murder in the Second Degree (Class B Felony). He and the three others involved have also been charged with Felony Possession of a Firearm (Class D Felony).

Shivers is currently in custody and being held at the Webster County Jail on a cash only bond of $505,000. The release says as a reminder that all individuals involved are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
