Humboldt County budget amendment

Dakota City, IA – Humboldt County is amending its budget to account for new expenses within the county.

On Monday, Nov. 9, the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors held a public hearing to discuss amending their current budget for the fiscal year 2020-21. According to the report from the county auditor’s office five area of the budget received amendments.

The largest change was to the County Environment and Education for the amendment of an additional $349,000 so the county’s conservation board could make a purchase of land. Administration also required an amendment for interfund loan and repayment of interfund loan. Other entities involved in the amendment include public safety and legal services, physical health and social services and government services to residents.

The total budget amendment was for $655,000. After this amendment the total ending fund balance is expected to be at $3,442,857.

There were no members of the general public present to speak during the public hearing. Following the closure of the public hearing the supervisors approved the amendment as present.
