Humboldt, IA – The City of Humboldt is continuing to provide fire protection services to the City of Rutland following renewal of their agreement.

On Monday, Nov. 2, the Humboldt City Council was presented an agreement to approve that provides the Humboldt Volunteer Fire Department as a provider of fire protection to the City of Rutland. The effective dates of the agreement are from July 1, 2019 to June 20, 2022.

City Administrator Travis Goedken says this is the renewal of an ongoing agreement. The agreement has to be approved by the two cities at the end of each term of the agreement because it does not auto renew. The city administrator also says there was a delay from the Rutland side of getting the agreement back to Humboldt.

Humboldt City Council approved the agreement to provide fire protection service to Rutland as presented.
