Reckless driving causes severe damage to parked car

Humboldt, IA – No injuries are reported after a minor crashed into a parked car in Humboldt Saturday morning.

According to a police report from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, around 4:00 AM, a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix was westbound on 8th Avenue North in Humboldt when it collided head-on with a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix, which was legally parked along 8th Avenue.

A drug test was given, and it was determined the individual was under the influence. According to the police report, it was noted the driver was operating a vehicle in a “reckless, erratic, careless, and negligent manner.” The parked car had functional damage, while the minor’s car had disabling damage.
