Humboldt girls basketball takes care of business at home against Manson-NW Webster

Humboldt, IA – Humboldt High School girls basketball grabs their second win of the season while hosting Manson-NW Webster.

On Tuesday, Dec. 1 the Humboldt Wildcats played their second home game of the season and beat the Manson-NW Webster Cougars 46-39.

The story of the game was the difference between two halves. Humboldt outscored their opponent 29-12 in the first half. The second half was a stronger showing for Manson who outscored Humboldt 27-17 as they attempted to comeback but their bid fell short in the end.

Wildcat forward Kendal Clark dominated again scoring 20 points and pulling in 12 rebound (six offensive and six defensive). This is the second straight game for Clark to post a double-double with at least 20 points. Humboldt guard Jayda Hoefer had 12 points as the only other Wildcats with double digit scoring.

For Manson-NW Webster their leading scorer was center Olivia Sturgis who had 18 points shooting 9-17 from the floor. She also recorded a double-double with 17 rebounds on the night.

Following the win Humboldt is now 2-1 on the season and 2-0 at home. The Wildcats were scheduled to play Webster City on Friday, Dec. 4 but that game was been postponed to a later date. Next scheduled game for Humboldt girls basketball is Friday, Dec 11 at home against Clear Lake at 6:15 pm.
