Dakota City, IA – Humboldt County is signing to join Rolling Hills Community Service Region at the start of the next fiscal year.

As previously reported by KHBT the county’s board of supervisors met with Dawn Menpzer from Rolling Hills to discuss joining the region to provide help provide human services to Humboldt County. These discussions were around the memorandum of understanding presented to the county.

During the meeting back on Nov. 30 the memorandum was presented but could not be signed by Chairman Erik Underberg. This was because there needed to be majority approval from Rolling Hills current member counties and that approval had not be signed. Menpzer didn’t have concerns about approval but believed other matters ere taking priority.

Supervisor Sandy Loney told the board during their most recent meeting on Dec. 7 that Menpzer informed her they had the majority consent. Loney was asked if there was concern about any member county not approving Humboldt County. She told the board only one is currently on the fence but it’s not believed to be an issue.

The board of supervisors made the motion to have the memorandum of understanding signed by Vice Chair Rick Pedersen in the absence of Underberg who was not present for this meeting.
