SUV strikes deer in Dakota City

Dakota City, IA – No injuries reported after a deer jumps in front of an SUV in Dakota City early Wednesday morning.

Chief Deputy Corey Lampe of the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office files the report on the animal involved incident. His report states that on Wednesday, Dec. 16, Tammi Tuttle, 52, of Hardy was driving north on K Road in Dakota City. As she approached the crossing with Three Rivers Trail a deer ran out onto the roadway from the west and into the path of the purple GMC Envoy. The deer was struck but managed to run away from the scene.

The incident report states that an estimated $2,000 in damages was caused to the Envoy that was driven away from the scene. No injuries were reported by Chief Deputy Lampe as a result of the incident.
