Humboldt County to begin vaccinating essential workers

Humboldt County, IA – The local health care providers are updating the community on their vaccination efforts.

On March 5, Humboldt County Memorial Hospital and Public Health provided on update on their next target group for COVID-19 vaccines. After last week’s clinic that provide round one doses to individuals 65 and older and educators in the community they say 120 more doses have been allocated locally by the state.

With this next round of doses the local department plans to begin the vaccination of some of the essential work force. This group includes food processing, agricultural production, distribution and manufacturing workers that cannot properly socially distance in the work place. Public Health is working with employers to get dates and times for these businesses.

The 75 and older community members that received their first dose back on February 10 will be getting their second doses on Wednesday, March 10, at the Fairgrounds. Individuals who are in this category are asked to make their appointment if they haven’t already by calling Public Health at (515)332-2492.
