Humboldt girls’ soccer falls after big second half by IFA

Humboldt, IA – On Monday, May 10, Humboldt High School girls’ soccer fell 7-2 to Iowa Falls-Alden.

At the Humboldt High School Soccer Field the game between the Wildcats and Cadets would start out hotly contested. The halftime lead for the visitors was at 2-1.

Iowa Falls-Alden scored five goals in the second half to open the game up. Humboldt was unable to match the offensive firepower of the Cadets, only getting one of their own.

Humboldt’s got a goal from both Yuli Orana (her fifth) and Reagan Lee (her fourth). As a team they took 18 total shots, seven of which were on goal.

Starting Goalie Marie Elizondo was credited with seven saves and six goals against in 65 minutes of play. Emily Zaugg came in at goal to play the remain 15 minutes and made two saves with one goal against.

Humboldt girls’ soccer is now 3-9 this season. Their next game is Tuesday, May 11, on the road against East Sac County at the Walk Lake Athletic Complex. Match time is scheduled for 5 pm.
