Humboldt girls’ soccer falls to Hampton-Dumont

Humboldt, IA – On Friday, April 30, the Humboldt High School girls’ soccer team hosted the Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs and fell 4-3.

It was a close game all evening. The scored was tied 2-2 at the half before Hampton recorded two goals in the second half to just one from Humboldt.

The Bulldogs took a total of nine shots with eight of them on goal. They got two goals from Franka Schmid who took four shots (three on goal).

Hampton’s Goalie Fraith Grover was forced to make 23 saves in the game in addition to the three goals against her. She played all 80 minutes in the net for the Bulldogs.

Humboldt girls’ soccer is now 3-6 this season. Their next game will be on Tuesday, May 4, on the road against Webster City. The match will begin at 5:30 pm.
