Humboldt, IA – Humboldt County Conservation and the Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation will be holding a public trailing building event this coming weekend.

On Saturday, June 5, and Sunday, June 6, the conservation and the INHF are welcoming the community to come out and lend a hand. This event will be a Sheldon Park/Lothe Woods Trail Build Day.

This trail will be a primitive dirt trail to help limit the environmental impact. Volunteers of all experiences levels are welcome to come out and help with this project. Each day will have two volunteer shifts, from 8:30 am-1230 pm and 1-4:30 pm.

The plan is to extend the existing trail in Lower Sheldon Park by half a mile. It will extend from the upper piece of the trail into the Lothe property.

Humboldt County Conservation is requesting that those interested in volunteering please let them know ahead of time. Conservation can be reached by email [email protected] or by calling (515)332-4087.
