Hall sentenced to life in prison for murder of Fort Dodge inmate

Fort Dodge, IA – A prison inmate convicted of killing another inmate at the Fort Dodge Correctional Facility was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole on Friday. A Webster County jury found 45-year-old Eric T. Hall guilty on May 18th of the June 2020 first degree murder of Thomas Daleske.

Hall’s defense was that as someone who was sexually abused as a child, he was angry that Daleske, who was convicted of sexual crimes against children, could be released soon.

Hall was in prison for a 2019 3rd degree burglary charge, and is currently serving his life sentence for the murder of Daleske at the Iowa State Penitentiary in Fort Madison. He was also ordered by District Court Judge John Flynn to pay $150,000 in restitution to the Daleske family.

KHBT News reached out to the Webster County Attorney’s Office and the Fort Dodge Correctional Facility, but they were not available for comment.
