Wildcats face Independence with trip to the Dome on the line

Humboldt, IA – The 10-0 Humboldt Wildcats host the 9-1 Independence Mustangs on Friday night at Mason Maach Field in Humboldt in the 3A Quarterfinals with a trip to the Dome next week on the line.

Humboldt is coming off a 47-6 victory over Hampton-Dumont/CAL in the first round of the playoffs and Wildcats Head Coach Derrick Elman says his team is taking it one game at a time.

Elman knows Independence, who is coming off a 26-6 win over Benton last week in the first round of the playoffs presents a strong challenge, lead by Marcus Beatty who has rushed for over 2,250 yards this season and a school record 319 rushing yards last week.
