Humboldt, IA -Humboldt County Conservation is working on acquiring a habitat area in Humboldt County. Conservation Director Todd Lee says that they will be turning in a habitat stamp grant in the next week or so to hopefully acquire 89 acres by Renwick that can be used for wildlife habitat hunting, trapping, fishing and more.

The cost of the project is $396,053. The habitat stamp  grant that the County is applying for is worth $133,550  and the rest has been paid for with other grants and private donations.

The 89 acres of land is a mile north of Renwick just West of Highway 17. The land Humboldt County Conservation is attempting to purchase is an addition to 160 acres that was purchased in 2020 using a similar grant.
