Fort Dodge, IA -Fort Dodge Police are investigating a shooting at the Brass Monkey Bar in Fort Dodge early Sunday morning that caused two injuries.
The incident occurred at around 1 am and when officers arrived to Brass Monkey at North 10th St. They found two victims, a 30-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound to his shoulder and a 26-year-old woman who had a gun shot wound to her neck. Both victims were transported to Unity Point Health Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge for medical treatment, and the woman was transported to a Des Moines area hospital via life-flight for further treatment. Both victims were last reported to be in stable condition.
As for the shooter, Fort Dodge Police also found the man identified by witnesses as the shooter outside of the bar when they arrived on scene.
It was learned through an initial investigation that a fight had occurred between multiple people inside the bar prior to the shooting. No charges have been filed or arrests have been made as of this report.
The Fort Dodge Police Department is continuing to investigate this incident. Anyone who may have information is encouraged to contact law enforcement.
