Dakota City, IA – The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors on Monday accepted a recommendation from the Humboldt County Conservation Board regarding the Reasoner Dam project. Conservation Director Todd Lee gave the Conservation Board’s recommendation to move forward with Option #2 on the project.

No decision was made at the meeting as the board decided that more discussion on the topic is necessary, so a joint meeting with the Board of Supervisors and the Humboldt County Conservation Board was scheduled for Wednesday, February 16 at 6 pm at the The Humboldt County Conservation office in Dakota City. The meeting is open to the public.

Board of Supervisors Chairman Bruce Reimers had this to say about the discussion on Monday about the Reasoner Dam Project.

KHBT News talked to Humboldt Businessman Brett Harklau who has been a strong supporter of saving the Dam, about his alternative option to the Reasoner dam project.

Harklau says he is working on getting cost estimates on that alternative and encourages the public to attend the public meeting on February 16.
