Wildcats sweep Webster City in basketball doubleheader

Humboldt, IA -The Humboldt Wildcats swept the Webster City Lynx in a basketball doubleheader at the Humboldt High School Gym on Tuesday night, with the girls winning 47-26. Joie Smith had a game high 13 points for the Wildcats in the win as they improved to 9-6 overall and 6-2 in the North Central Conference. Next game is at Clear Lake on Friday.

On the other side, Humboldt boys fell behind early and trailed by 6 points at halftime, but came on strong in the second half to set up a great finish. Webster City had a two point lead with under 30 seconds to play, but here is what happened next.

Webster City had one final chance to win it in regulation.

With the 46-45 win Humboldt stays unbeaten at 12-0 and 7-0 in the NCC. Caden Matson had a team high 16 points in the win. Next up for Humboldt is a road clash at clear lake on Friday
