Dakota City, IA – A man who left an lasting mark on Humboldt County passed away recently. Merlin Louis Fort, 92 of Dakota City passed away of Friday February 11. Fort ran Hillside Spectacular for 35 years, ands David Lee of Dakota City who was friends with Fort for about 50 years and says people would come from all over the country to see the lights and Christmas decorations of Hillside Spectacular.
