Webster City, IA -On Friday night the Humboldt Wildcats boys basketball team dropped a nail biter to Webster City, falling 54-51. It was a back and forth game on night, but it looked like the Wildcats might pull away with this Carter Hatcher big bucket in the 4th.

The Wildcats extended the lead to 51-47 with a Trevor Jacobsen 3-pointer with just under 3 minutes to play, but Webster City scored the final 7 points of the game.

Hatcher had a big game with 12 points and so did Ben Kuehnast with 13, but in the final stages it was Webster City who made the plays down the stretch, lead by Ty Mckinney’s 23 points for the Lynx.

The loss for the Wildcats leaves Humboldt with a share of the North Central Conference title with Clarion-Goldfield Dows. Humboldt’s next game is at home against Gilbert on Tuesday.
