Fort Dodge, IA – Fort Dodge Police are investigating a shooting that occurred early Tuesday morning that struck a house nearly striking a sleeping child. A press release from the Fort Dodge Police Department indicates the shooting occurred at about 2:15 a.m on Tuesday and Police arrived on scene and found a house at 205 South 20th St struck by gunfire.
Police found that the gun shots narrowly missed a sleeping 8-year-old child their mother by only a few feet. There were no injuries in the shooting, and police say there is no information to indicate the residence was targeted for any reason and that it appears that they were innocent bystanders of this act of gun violence.
