Tuesday Wildcats Sports round-up

Humboldt, IATuesday night was a busy night for Humboldt High School athletics as there were multiple sporting events going on, including Humboldt Boys wrestling at the Regional Duals at Sargeant Bluff. Humboldt got off to a fast start, defeating Boyden-Hull Rock Valley 51-16. They moved on to face #4 Sargeant-Bluff-Luton in a winner to State Dual, and Humboldt fell short 51-18. The loss ended the Wildcats dual record at 17-4.

Next up for Humboldt wrestling is the District Tournament in Ballard on Saturday.

Humboldt boys and girls basketball were at Iowa-Falls/Alden on Tuesday, and both teams came out victorious. Humboldt girls lead 21-18 at halftime but exploded in the second half to pull away 71-37. Morgan Mann finished with 19 points, Regan Lee and Alexis Hansen each had 12.

Humboldt improved to 12-9 overall.

In the boys contest, Humboldt defeated IFA 55-29, Trevor Jacobsen had 12 points to lead Humboldt, as the Wildcats nailed 9 3 pointers. Will Orness and Caden Matson each had10 points.

Humboldt improves to17-1 and 12-1 in the NCC.

Next up is webster City on Friday.
