Dakota City, IA – At Monday’s Humboldt County Board of Supervisors Meeting, the Board approved an application for the State of Iowa American Rescue Plan funding for option 1 for the Reasoner Dam Project, while also applying for funding to connect Humboldt County’s Three River Trail with Webster County’s Prairie River Trail. The grant is to be submitted as one large project.
Here’s Humboldt County Board of Supervisors Chairman Bruce Reimers on the application for funding for the Reasoner Dam Project.
The other piece of the puzzle is connecting Humboldt County’s trail system to Webster County’s trail system and Reimer’s shared his thoughts on that.
As previously, reported, the Humboldt County Conservation Board initially agreed on moving forward with option #2 for the Reasoner Dam Project but then decided to keep their options open.
Option #1 is the most expensive option at nearly 20 million dollars and includes dredging and repairing the gates of the dam. Where the project goes from here depends on what federal funding the County receives for the project, KHBT will have further updates on the Reasoner Project when they become available.
