NWS Survey teams provide details about Tuesday’s storms

Des Moines, IA – The National Weather Service in Des Moines has released more details on the tornados that hit North Central Iowa on Tuesday Evening. KHBT News talked to Meteorologist Alexis Jimenez and she says survey teams were in the listening area to assess whether tornadoes had  touchdown and to verify the intensity of the storms. Here are some of the findings.

Jimenez describes some of the damage the National Weather Service found on Wednesday.

The National Weather service also reports that there was hail that was a bit larger than two-and-a-half inches in diameter near Gilmore City on Tuesday. The storm was the 2nd  major weather event to hit North Central Iowa in the last 5 months, as in December Humboldt County and surrounding areas was hit with high winds and tornado warnings. Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds issued a disaster proclamation after that storm.
