Humboldt, IA – The Iowa Department of Transportation offered a solution to the traffic light signal debate at the intersection of Highway 3 and Taft St. during Monday’s Humboldt City Council meeting.

Nickolas Humpal, the Assistant Engineer for District 2 of the DOT in Mason City, proposed a change of traffic from four lanes to three along Highway 3 in between the intersection with U.S. 169 and 5th St. The proposed change would bring one lane of traffic in either direction with a center turn lane separating the two.

The council did not bring the matter to a vote, as there was just a discussion held.
