NWS places area under wind advisory tonight

Des Moines, IA – The National Weather Service in Des Moines has issued a Wind Advisory for the counties of Humboldt, Pocahontas, Kossuth, Webster, Wright, Franklin, Sac, Calhoun, Emmet, Winnebago, Worth, Palo Alto, Hancock, and Cerro Gordo.

Winds from the southeast will range from 25-30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph possible. The NWS says gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could also be blown down and a few power outages may result.

The advisory is in effect until 9:00 p.m. CST tonight.
