Humboldt boys basketball routs Manson NW Webster 80-44

Humboldt, IA – The Humboldt boys basketball team hosted the Manson NW Webster Cougars in a non-conference matchup Monday night, winning the game 80-44 to start the week off.

Humboldt looked to follow the girls performance as they jumped out to a 31-21 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Cats would open up the scoring in the second stanza, leading 44-24 at the end of the first half. The third quarter saw the Wildcats continue their offensive prowess, leading 67-36 going into the final quarter of play. Humboldt would close out the game with an 80-44 final score for the victory.

Leading the way for Humboldt was Elliot Carlson with 21 points, followed by both Will Orness and Josh Thurm with 18 a piece. With the win, Humboldt improves to 8-2 overall.

The Cats resume play tomorrow as they host Iowa Falls-Alden in a basketball doubleheader. The game tips off at 7:45 p.m.
