Des Moines, IA – The National Weather Service in Des Moines has placed our area under a Dense Fog Advisory until 12:00 p.m. CST today. The advisory includes the counties of Calhoun, Emmet, Hancock, Humboldt, Kossuth, Palo Alto, Pocahontas, Webster, Winnebago, and Wright.
Visibility is less than one quarter mile in the dense fog in these areas. The impacts include hazardous driving conditions due to the low visibility. The NWS says if driving to slow down, use your headlights and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
