Arrest made in string of Fort Dodge robberies and burglary from last year

Fort Dodge, IA – A Fort Dodge man has been arrested after a five month long investigation into three robberies and a burglary in Fort Dodge.

The incidents date back to Oct. 18 through Nov. 14, 2022 at four different local businesses in Fort Dodge. As a result of the investigations thus far, 21-year-old Roberto Ramirez, of Fort Dodge has been arrested on the following charges:

Jo Jo’s Cocktail Lounge (14 S 11th St.)

  • Robbery Second Degree (C Felony)
  • Theft First Degree (C Felony)

Star Convenience (1601 5th Ave. S)

  • Burglary Third Degree (D Felony)
  • Theft Second Degree (D Felony)
  • Criminal Mischief Third Degree (Aggravated Misdemeanor)
  • Possession of Burglar Tools (Aggravated Misdemeanor)

Sinclair Gas Station (315 2nd Ave. S)

  • Robbery First Degree (B Felony)
  • Theft First Degree (C Felony)

New Star Mini Mart (704 Ave. C)

  • Robbery First Degree (B Felony)

Investigators with the Criminal Investigations Division are continuing to follow up on the incidents. Law enforcement asks anyone with any information to contact the Fort Dodge Police Department. Information may also be submitted anonymously via Crime Stoppers.
