Rolfe man arrested in domestic dispute, one injured

Rolfe, IA – A Rolfe man was arrested last Monday, Feb. 27, after Pocahontas County Sheriff were called out for a domestic situation regarding a hand gun.

Deputies investigating the scene saw that an assault had taken place in which multiple firearms were involved and evidence showed that the firearm discharged was more than likely discharged in self-defense. A female at the scene was taken by ambulance to the hospital.

44 year-old Clinton Wheeless of Rolfe was arrested and charged with Going Armed with Intent, a Class D Felony, and Domestic Assault Impeding Airflow, a Class D Felony.

Wheeless was transported to the Pocahontas County Jail to await his initial appearance before a Magistrate. Additional charges are pending.

The Pocahontas Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Pocahontas Police Department, the Laurens Police Department, and the Pocahontas Ambulance.
