Humboldt Boys soccer dominant in 5-0 win at IF-A

Iowa Falls, IA – The Humboldt boys soccer team was in Iowa Falls for their first North Central Conference road match of the season, winning 5-0 Thursday night. The Cats jumped out to a 2-0 lead on goals by Jonathan Gasca, who split the IF-A defense with a pass from Christhian Ramirez and scored with 20 minutes left in the first half. His goal was followed a few minutes later by Ramirez’ shot headed towards goal, and Henrik Gustafson tapped it over the line.

Nolan Gustafson started the second half scoring with a laser from 30 yards out. His goal was followed by Will Orness beating a couple defnders then slotting the ball in the near corner. Antonio Xum came in and finished the scoring with a goal from point blank range set up by Zane McIntire whose shot was blocked on the line.

Karson Rubel recorded his first shutout aided by the back four of Rasmus Meier, Gaige Allen, Carter Westre and Jayden Ramirez.

The team improves to 3-0 (3-0 NCC) and next faces Belmond-Klemme tonight on the road, with coverage starting at 5:20 p.m. on KHBT.
