Humboldt Girls Soccer falls 2-1 in heartbreaker to GHV

Humboldt, IA – The Humboldt Wildcats girls soccer team fell in a heartbreaker to Garner-Hayfield-Ventura 2-1 Monday night at the Humboldt High School Soccer Field.

The Cats were tied 0-0 at the half and the first score would come around the 27 minute remaining mark by the Cardinals’ Bella Schisel. Humboldt would battle back and tie the match with an Elsie Hubbell goal with 7:01 remaining in regulation. Garner-Hayfield-Ventura’s Ali Hess would take back the lead with 52 seconds remaining for the win.

With the loss, Humboldt falls to 3-3 (2-2 NCC) and will now turn their attention to non-conference foe Storm Lake on Tuesday at 5:00 p.m.
