Humboldt, IA – The Humboldt High School Band and Choir had their Music Trip to New Orleans on Mar. 29 through April 2. Humboldt Schools 7-12 Vocal Music Teacher Benjamin Chavers says the trip was a great experience.
Awards were earned on the trip by the program as well. Outstanding musician awards went to Camden Karageorge (Sr.) and Jordan Kahl (Jr.), who are involved in all ensembles. The program also earned awards of First place silver for concert chorale, First place silver concert band with trophy for outstanding band, First place in gold jazz band, First place in gold vocal jazz ensemble, the Sweepstakes award for band with total points closest to 200 of all the bands and the award of the night, the highest total points trophy of any school. The music trip occurs every few years at the high school level.
