(KHBT) – With April 20 coming up and the longstanding association between the date and marijuana use, law enforcement will have an increased presence statewide to curtail drivers from operating their vehicles while impaired.
That is Iowa State Patrol Trooper Paul Gardner. Trooper Gardner says trying to operate a vehicle while impaired has many risks.
Out of the four fatality crashes in 2022 in Humboldt County, one of them had marijuana use involved. Of the 338 fatalities in crashes statewide, there were 63 fatalities that were drug related.
