Humboldt, IA – Springfield Plastics, Inc. has announced the winner of its FFA Week Food Drive Contest is Clarion-Goldfield-Dows High School.
During FFA Week from Feb. 18-25 of this year, Springfield Plastics invited area FFA groups to take part in a community food drive contest. As the winning school, Springfield Plastics awarded Clarion-Goldfield-Dows High School $1000 and will help sponsor a student to go to the FFA state convention.
“We want to congratulate Clarion-Goldfield-Dows High School FFA members for bringing in 881.3 pounds of food for our first Humboldt-area FFA Week Food Drive Contest,” said Jennifer Furkin, Vice President of Springfield Plastics. “The food they worked so hard to collect in order to win this contest was donated to Clarion First Lutheran Food Pantry.”
Other schools that took part in Springfield Plastics’ FFA Week Food Drive Contest were Algona High School (bringing in 260 pounds of donations) and Humboldt High School (with 76 pounds). Both schools received $250 from Springfield Plastics for participating in the food drive. The total weight of food collected between the three FFA groups was 1217.3 pounds.
