National Police Week 2023

(KHBT) – This week is recognized as National Police Week and both Humboldt Police Chief Joel Sanders and Humboldt County Sheriff Dean Kruger took time to reflect on their departments.

That was Chief Sanders on his department. Sheriff Kruger says he can’t say enough about the work his office does.

At the national level, U.S. Representative for District 4 Randy Feenstra, a Republican from Hull, has been apart of the recognition on Capitol Hill.

Feenstra passed a resolution on Monday in the house recognizing the service police and law enforcement officers and honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of communities. It was earlier this month (May 3) that Feenstra co-sponsored legislation, known as the Protect and Serve Act of 2023, that would create federal penalties for criminals who intentionally target, harm, and attack law enforcement officers.
