Des Moines, IA – The National Weather Service in Des Moines has placed our area under a wind advisory until 4:00 p.m. CDT today.
Sustained northwest winds of 25 to 30 mph with gusts around 50 mph are forecast for our area today. The NWS says gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects, tree limbs could be blown down, and a few power outages may occur as a result.
The National Weather Service advises to use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle and to secure outdoor objects.
