Fort Dodge, IA – An investigation into a death in Fort Dodge on Saturday afternoon is underway.
According to Fort Dodge Police, a call was received by Webster County Dispatchers at approximately 12:17 p.m. of a person shot in the 1200 block of 2nd Ave. N. Officers with the Fort Dodge Police Department, deputies with the Webster County Sheriff’s Office, and the Fort Dodge Fire Department responded.
Upon arrival on scene, a juvenile male with multiple gunshot wounds was located in the 1200 block 1st Ave. N. and officer’s began rendering medical aid. The juvenile male was unresponsive and was transported to Unity Point Trinity Regional Medical Center by ambulance and was later pronounced deceased.
Investigators are working to determine exactly what took place and the deceased male’s name has not been released due to the fact that he is a juvenile.
It has been reported by Fort Doge Police that the incident was isolated and there remains no threat to the community.
The Fort Dodge Police Department was assisted by the Webster County Sheriff’s Office, the Webster County Attorney’s Office, and the Fort Dodge Fire Department.
